A Landmark Project in the Meatpacking District
WICONA is featured in one of the tallest buildings in New York’s vibrant Meatpacking District. Located at 412 West 15th Street near Ninth Avenue, this new architectural landmark was designed by CetraRuddy Architecture to blend seamlessly with its historic and energetic surroundings. The project includes an 18-story tower connected to a 5-story landmark structure, forming a unified urban office campus. Initially conceived as a hotel, market conditions prompted a shift in purpose, transforming it into a flexible commercial office building with open-plan workspaces suited to diverse business needs.
Custom Façade Design by WICONA
A standout feature of the project is its striking aluminium glass façade, developed specifically for this building by WICONA. The WICTEC EL SG unitised curtain wall system allows for large glazed areas with structural glass panels. Each unit is prefabricated and assembled individually, providing both flexibility and precision tailored to the project’s requirements. This modular system enhances both aesthetics and performance, making it ideal for the evolving demands of urban architecture.
Merging Past, Present, and Future
The design pays homage to the district’s industrial past while embracing modernity. Dark stainless steel details and black terrazzo floors harmonize with the neighborhood’s character. The ground floor physically connects to the adjacent building at 413 West 14th Street, symbolizing a bridge between eras. Inside, the open-plan top floor—free of supporting pillars—maximizes natural light and panoramic views of Manhattan and the Hudson River. Terraces and thoughtful glazing design amplify this brightness, creating an inspiring and dynamic workplace environment.
