Centre aquatique La Source

Fifty years after it first opened to the public, the La Source aquatic center underwent a major renovation. The decision was made to almost completely demolish and rebuild the center, restructuring the pools, increasing their number, and streamlining circulation, which was restored to a single level. WICONA solutions made it possible to preserve the aesthetic identity of this remarkable building while ensuring high technical and environmental performance. The originality of this project lies in the creation of diamond-shaped glazed assemblies. Featuring Wicona's patented thermal break concept, nearly 1,100 m² of WICLINE 65 HI frames form large triangles between each of the porticos, which can incorporate WICSTYLE 65 double doors. Inside the glazed diamonds are assemblies measuring 8 m high and 3.60 m at their widest point, the upper half of which supports horizontal sunshades. In the double-height lobby, the slimness and adaptability of the large MECANO 52 curtain walls allow plenty of light to enter thanks to a transparent faceted wall and a glass mezzanine, which is also undulating.
